Updates for May 12-16, 2008

Congratulations and special blessings to all the students who made their First Communion. I enjoyed being with you over the past two weekends and sharing in this special sacrament.

Please remember that our OLA First Communion Reception will be held in the multi-purpose room after Mass on May 22nd. Please allow your child to wear his or her First Communion clothes to school. Also, send in their regular school uniform. Since the students have attended Mass, uniform shorts and skorts are acceptable for the remainder of the day. For those students who have not made their First Communion and will not be wearing special clothes, jumpers and long pants are required for Mass.

Thank you to Mrs. LeGrande for sending in glue sticks, Mrs. Russell for sending in chopsticks and posters, and Mrs. Parillo for sending in plates and bowels.

Mrs. Parillo has agreed to stand with 2nd Grade on Friday evening, for the 45 minutes of hallway viewing, prior to our Multi-Cultural Variety Show.  For the show on Friday, please have your child wear dark pants and a plain white shirt. We will add yellow and red sashes and Chinese sun hats to complete our costumes. Please know that it is very important for every child to be present at the show on Friday. Every 2nd Grader has a part!

On Thursday, May 15, 2008 we will eat in the multi-purpose room. Food will be brought in by the PTO and volunteering families. I highly encourage you to pack a big snack of some lunch just in case your child does not want to eat what we have.
