Spelling
We started spelling in class today! Each Friday, your child will have a spelling test on 10 spelling words (the first 10 on the list). These tests will begin next week on Friday, August 31st. The words given out today will be on next Fridays Test. New words will be given each Friday, the week before the test. This gives the students a weekend and a week to study the words.
Students will be responsible for practicing to spell the words at home as well as at school. Each day, the students will have a spelling assignment which they will write in their homework agendas. Sometimes the homework will be from the spelling workbook and other times it will be an assignment that needs to be done in their spelling spiral notebook. Spelling assignments and tests will be graded at the end of each week.
The pretest that is stapled to this letter was not for a grade. It is just a
guide for the students to know which words they should be studying more and
which words they already know how to spell. Parents, please help your children
review these words to be ready for the test next Friday!
