Computer Skills Curriculum

If you are interested in the Computer Skills Curriculum that we follow at OLA and at all of the Diocesan Schools you can check out the NC Standard Course of Study at the NCDPI Web Site. Along with making certain that all of this is covered, I will be working closely with the classroom teachers to integrate the use of technology into the regular classrooms.

Children in all grade levels are presently involved in a familiarization process with the computer.  Grades 3 through 5 are getting started with the typing tutor in anticipation of future assignments with lots of typing involved.

Mr. Grimm has been busy trying to get digital photographs of all the classes  and individual students for future classes to show the students how simply daily tasks can be integrated into computer technology.

Also, referring back to the supply list for computer class, several students do not have the necessary supplies as requested.

K-5 ---   Students are required to bring in two photographs:

1) A  photograph  showing the student's summer vacation. (since many children have not brought in this photograph, A Thanksgiving or Christmas photo will be adequate.)

2) A photograph of the student at at a much younger age, preferably a baby picture.

K-2 students need to have stereo headphones.

Grades 3- 5 need to have stereo headphones with a microphone attached.
