Or maybe, just because it is A LOT OF FUN!

The 3rd Annual OLA Egg Drop.

Tuesday, May 20th

(Rain date:  Wednesday, May 21st)

Design and build a structure that will keep a raw egg from breaking when

dropped from the top of a two story building!

 

Come and join us for an “Egg-celent” day of fun and creativity!

May is National Egg Month.

The OLA Egg-Drop is sponsored by the L.E.A.P. class.

Guidelines:

 

·        Open to all OLA students, PK through Fifth grade and all Staff Members.

·        The Official “Egg-Dropper” will be Ms. Leva and Mrs. Bryn.

·        Family Project - All students may have help from family members. 

·        All preparations must be made at home.

·        Refer to the Egg-Drop Rules on the back of this page.


Award Certificates
will include:

*Most Creative Structure Design,

* Most Colorful Structure Design,

*The Humpty Dumpty "Splat" Award

and... the one and only...

* Golden Egg Award (Most Creative and Successful Structure Design),

Rules:      All Entries

*  This is an optional project.  Student participation is encouraged, but not required. 

        No grade will be given.

*  This is a family project.  Students may receive help from any family member.  

        *No partnering with other students or siblings.

Structure:

*    The egg-drop structure must be made at home. 

*    Try to use items that are recycled or can be thrown away. (Many of the egg-drop structures will break.)

*    For health safety reasons, if any egg breaks, the structure will be disposed of. (after being photographed.)

*    The structures MAY NOT contain or be made of:

Wood, cardboard, Liquid of any kind, glass, sharp objects, batteries,

Explosive fuels, or helium balloons.

*    All structures must be clearly labeled with the students name and grade.

*    Egg-drop structures must be delivered to the LEAP room on or before the day of competition. (no egg inside)

Size Limits:

*  No larger than 12 inches in any direction.

*  No heavier than 3 pounds.

Eggs:

*    Eggs will be provided at school on the day of the competition.

*    The raw eggs will be placed in each structure by Mrs. Bryn and the participating student.

*    All eggs will be checked for cracks before placing them into the structures.
